A sunny, still morning gave us the perfect chance to catch up on the weeding we missed last week.
Working along Moira Parade, our team removed a hefty haul of Mother of Millions, asparagus species, ivy vine, the odd bit of bitou bush, and cut back and treated around four lantana plants. The photo shows most — but not all — of the bags of weeds collected.
A very efficient effort from a team of 10 volunteers. Well done to everyone who made the extra, non-scheduled Saturday push!
Meanwhile, Kit took on the steep riverbank from below, accessing the area via a well-worn path along the water’s edge. In her determined pursuit of unwanted plants, she ventured a little further than planned up the bank. This photos show her heroic effort to extract herself from the situation — and explain why she missed the group photo.
