Another successful morning along The Boulevarde! Despite steady light rain overnight, the weather held off nicely, and by 10.30 am the day was really starting to warm up.
Eleven keen volunteers worked away for a good hour and a half along the stretch of bush behind Jimmy’s Beach, and we all felt suitably satisfied with our efforts — and thoroughly deserving of a well-earned coffee afterwards!
There was plenty to keep us busy, with a good growth of polygala, a little bitou, and of course, the ubiquitous Enemy Number One in this location. Countless bags of MoM were filled and deposited in nearby Council bins before we headed off for coffee.
Benny and Trish tackled some of the flowering coastal wattle that had been rather lazily hanging through the fence and onto the roadside. It was quite a task — and there is still plenty more to go!
A big thank you to everyone who gave their time and energy yesterday. As always, there was a great spirit in the field, plenty of conversation, and even more over coffee afterwards. It is such a pleasure working alongside such a happy and enthusiastic group of volunteers.
Only two more monthly Saturday sessions to go this year! But don’t be surprised if we manage to squeeze in a few more “commando raids” to clean up some of those other troublesome spots.
